Hey guys!

I have mastered increasing my hair growth, hair moisture and hair strength -- however, I still get split ends.

I would really love to just STOP GETTING SPLIT ENDS. Not sure what else to do.

Here's my current regimen:
1. Trim once every 3 months + random 'search & destroy' method
2. "max hydration method" once or twice a month (aka, I wash my hair with bentonite clay + protein treatment with egg + yogurt + coconut cream)
3. Water-wash or co-wash about once a week.

The only thing I can figure at this point is my DIET. I know my diet is likely low in zinc, iron, magnesium, and other minerals. Has anyone tried mineral supplementation for hair benefits?

Hey!
Different question: Do you apply excessive heat on your hair (e.g. flat iron)?

I recommend the R&B PHYTON THERAPY NOURISHING TWO PHASE.
It is supplied with moisture and oil to maintain smooth state of cut and permed hair
It really enriched my damaged hair, and now it's soft and silky
This is on SALE right now at thehairrock.com, so make sure to check this out at the reasonable
price :)

Split ends are going to happen. You'll never get rid of them, it's a natural process. Everyone has split ends. It's ok.

To minimize split ends I recommend:

  • Sleeping on a satin pillow case or using a satin bonnet.
  • Sealing your ends with a sealant; also -> focus on moisturizing your ends when styling.
  • Deep conditioning regularly.
  • Keeping your hair in a protective style where your ends are tucked away, such as a bun.
  • FINGER DETANGLING your hair in sections while moisturized.
  • Stay away from heat + hair coloring. Hair dye will wreck your ends.

If you know your diet is lacking, take a multi-vitamin daily. Drink plenty of water. Make sure you get your protein.

I take supplements/vitamins mainly for overall health. I haven't seen much of a different in the split ends department from it. Though I feel protective styling helps the most for me when it comes to split ends. I only trim my hair every 4-5 months.

Good luck!
