You could get a straw set, which would give you little spiral curls.  You could it at home, too.  Just get a package of drinking straws and some bobby pins.  After you wash your hair divide it into sections, add a setting lotion, and wrap the hair around the straw starting from the bottom of the hair.  Secure boths ends with bobby pins.  You can either sit under a bonnet dryer on low or use a blow dryer.  You can also use perming rods, but straws are cheaper.

If you know how to use a marcel curling iron, spirals are easy.  You just grab the hair at the roots with the iron and then you click and twirl your way to the ends.  You get those babydoll curls of youth!  When my hair was long I was the spiral curl queen!!!

I just bought some Flexi rods. The smallest size. They were on sale at Sallys 5.99 a pack. 10 in a pack. I have 20 rods and Im about to try them.

I'll let you know how it goes. I have relaxed hair...my hair is on the neck as well, almost shoulder length.
