why do we want more black women to be in videos were the words in the song are "all I want for my birthday is a big booty hoe"?
This is sooo not the point.
Whether its an R&B song, a ballad, or a degrading rap song, the bottom line is that if the artist isn't black, the women in the video will resemble him, if the artist is black the women will mostly likely be anything but black.
Further, disrespect of women and misogny are a completely different topic entirely. Whether or not the artist is backwards in his view of women, the fact remains that the women in those music videos represent the ideal beauty of the black men making the videos. So even if the words of the music were different, and the women were depicted better, we would still be having this discussion.
