Nas sold 150k first week. Lupe Fiasco sold 90k first week.
Sure what people listen to isn't necessarily what they buy. But that still doesn't support the stance that people are choosing the Keefs over more 'substantive' artist.

Oh I don't agree with what she said at all. I think most people are well rounded listeners these days....since it's cool to listen to all types of music.

they've always been intrigued by black people. The white following of black culture is like their 24/7 reality tv...you know the saying, "everybody wants to be black but no one really wants to be black". I think white people enjoy straddling the fence...they have the power to choose when and where they can submerse themselves in our culture. we're auto associated with all things black culture, the good and the bad, just for being black. Imagine how fun it is for them to dibble and dabble. this is why white people can be racist and we can't. they have the power to be whomever they want while our identity is dictated by them before we open our mouths. they control how we're represented at large.

lmao @ nala. Bee318ti said that this generation won't listen to music unless you talk about nutting in someone's eye lol. But I do believe that the people in charge have a quota for ratchet to conscious music from black folk allowed on the radio. I hate hearing white people say how hilarious rap is because they are not exposed to anything other than what they hear in mainstream radio. With that being said, I do not understand how some of these songs make mainstream when they should be confined to a strip club or held underground. Also, all these songs being made with catchy choruses, good beats and then sh*tty filler verses that only took like an hour for them to write is getting so old (like Nala displayed so wonderfully haha). What happened to using metaphors and analogies and building stories and making it creative and fun.
