For the past 2-3 months my scalp has been tender and sore.. I am currently 1 month post relaxer and have about 1/4 inch of new growth.
I hace been experiencing slight itchiness and tingling on my scalp as well.I realize I am now shedding and my hair is breaking now that im shedding.I'm confused I dont know what to do now. I started washing more frequently to stop the breakage and tender scalp. I dont put anything on my scalp either. I dont have dandruff or  anything. Whats the problem?

when ur hair grows without anything done like relaxing the new growth, u normal get sore on ur scalp when u scratch.  i am going through the same thing as at now, i think u should be gentle with ur scalp and do not scratch when they are itching cause that will cause more sore.  u can put some light oil on the sore part.  hope this helps. sorry.

yes, it is sometimes hard for people to stand new growth, i am not saying always, cause it happens sometimes to me but not always,  and these are some of the problems we face when geting a perm cause it ends up burning too quick which renders us being underprocess.  since our scalp is sore.

I hope its just because of the new growth because this is my first time stretching and when I was about 6 weeks or so post (when I usually put my relaxer in) my scalp started to become sore in different places too. (One of the reasons I decided to stretch) I was going to go to a professional and get it checked out, but it stopped ever since I started moisturizing my scalp more.
