I rarely post, and this is off topic, but I just had to point out that being Creole does not always produce a light-skinned, curly haired person. Beyonce has maybe just as much Creole blood (maybe even less) as I do, and I'm around the complexion of Nia Long, and my hair is kinky. When I see folks interchange the term Creole to being light, it makes me cringe. Half of my family is light. The other half is dark. Just like every other black person in America.

That's all...

But in THIS case, Beyonce's "Creole" heritage produced her mixed-looking phenotype

We understand what you're saying. Creoles run the gamit just like every other mixed group

I liked the article. All the ladies are down to earth and funny. Solange was not lying about those wet funky tracks! Has nothing to do with insecure, has to do with maintenance.

My biggest pet peeve is when non-black people compare you to another black person. "My other black friend does this" or "why don't you do this like this person?" like we are all the same. But let you group whites into a category and they will go off and tell you they are 1/5 norwegian, 1/5 irish, 1/5 cockatoo...
Basically my reaction when they start with that ish
