but i think (beyond what jones mentioned) that black classics are underated many times by blacks as well. it may be due to them not being relateable due to time or subject matter.
 
and did anyone mention "carwash" and "superfly"? or are those an obvious given?

The Best Man and Love Jones are both great movies.  I'm not excited about the sequel to Best Man.  I also love Waiting to Exhale but I only watch it when I'm going through some things.  If Angela Bassett was in it, it's probably a classic.
