As long as we as a community continue to choose not to vote, take our education seriously, and focus on economic advancement we'll continue to be in the same situation.
It really doesn't matter how many "latinos" there are and whether the administration is catering to them.

Yes it does matter that Latinos are gaining political leverage it just says so much about the current state of blacks economically and politically

They've been gaining political leverage for the last two decades. That's why it doesn't "matter" in the sense that some people are alluding to. First, when there were more of us and less of them we sat back on our laurels and allowed our community to destroy itself from the inside out. That's our own fault and we need to own that. It has nothing to do with how many of them there are because we could be winning if we actually wanted to.
Second, someone else doesn't have to lose for us to win. I honestly have no issue with them gaining political leverage. It's what we as a black people should have done and can still do. We just have to want to win, just like they clearly do.

 Damn right. I'm starting my self-imposed exile to the Caribbean when I'm 30. I'm almost ready to give up. To hell with these Brothas. No point in trying to free slaves that don't wanna leave the plantation. As you can see right here in this thread, most Negroes aint trying to accept this message. Even if this message was sent to every Negro in this damn country, the response would be the same. Unless there is some type of cataclysmic event that forces Blacks to come together, then everything is in vain. But.....if my words can enlighten and free the mind of ONE brother or sister, then I have done my job.
