Something i used to ask myself quite a lot. High school and College was NOT optional for me or my cousins.  You go, do well and finish or you DIE.  lol. There were NO OPTIONS. maybe thats the problem. Parents are affording their children too many options.

Its sad that ppl are complacent with just completing the basics.

I found that blks at PWI are more likely to help because they are at PWI, Im sure it varies but at least up here there seems to be a very strong network among blk student groups and other minorities as well.

Cosign. A lot of the opportunities I've been afforded here were because of black people/organizations.
