I know dis might be a funny question but....
Is having sideburns a problem when applying a FLW? My mom went to a hair salon in DC to inquire for me and da lady at da shop said I'd have to shave off my sideburns for a full lace wig app. Is this really necessary? <still a LF newbie)

If you natural hair color is the same as your wig color, you won't have too much to worry about with it showing. I have very long sideburns and a lotta natural baby hair, so I always have this problem. I thought about shaving, but I never did. I usually wear light-colored units (#4 or 6) so my black sideburns or baby hair shows if I pull my wig back into a ponytail. So I just wear it down and it's fine. I don't use glue, but I do use tape and when I tape over my babyhairs, I make sure it's got enough release solution (alcohol, lace release, or acetone) to cause the tape to slide off. I never 'pull' the tape off my babyhairs.

^^^ yeah that's what I mean, I have a lotta baby hairs and long sideburns. So do actually apply the lace wig onto the sideburns/hair, glue (or tape) and all and it stays?

When I apply the wig (tape) on my sideburns, it doesn't really hold since the adhesives don't stick to hair. But the tape sticks okay to my babyhairs along my forehead and temples. And I am VERY careful during removal because I wanna keep my own natural babyhairs.

I did shave my sideburns one time, but they grew back so fast that I'd have to shave every week if I wanted to keep it shaved. (Too much work.)

If the wig matches your hair in color/texture, you can always place behind it and blend in.

I'm a newbie as well so my question may be even more blonde-ish.

But if she places the wig a little behind her hairline leaving her baby hair out same color/texture will it still appear natural. Also if she gets a wig a size smaller then her size will it accomplish the behind the hairline look?
