I don't mind talking about it honestly, for me it has always been if you are pretty your pretty it has nothing to do with skin color. But, of course their are still some people who still believe that light is automatically beautiful. It was like that in high school lol

I think there's also a huge difference between acknowledging it and obsessing over it. A lot of ppl in the black community obsess over ls/ds to the point that many assume things (i.e. all light skin ppl are stuck up/think they're better; everyone hates dark skin) and project those assumptions/insecurities onto others.

With that said, I understand the OPs frustration but to ignore the Ls/ds issue is like white ppl pretending racism doesn't exist anymore...it would do a disservice to us.
