booooooooLOL I help the community by choice not by force, it takes the enjoyment out of it when you force people IMO.


You can still do extra service by choice. Men have to sign up for selective service. In the UK and even Nigeria every citizen has to serve in some capacity. Part of taking pride in your country is serving it. I take great pride in helping my community. I don't like that they are targeting the poor for this when this should be something that everyone does.

Yeah my friend is moving back to Nigeria and was telling me about the year of service. I know you have to do this in France as well.

Yes just based off the topic name. I've said this before. If you're not in school what else are you doing? When i was "on the county" back in the day we had to work for it.

I honestly feel able bodied people on public assistance who are not in school, or in some program should be doing something. I also agree that serving your country/community is something each citizen should be required to do. Those on public assistance should continue to "serve" until they are able to make moves towards being self sufficient.
I work with homeless families in New York City and the sense on entitlement that the majority of clients who are classified as generational poverty is sickening.

work should be exchanged for any benefits given

I ain't got nothing against people that use welfare

it's just that something needs to be done about all the folks that abuse the system

I wouldn't have a problem doing community service if I needed welfare
