Precisely. Jordans are $200 shoes now but the quality hasn't gotten any better.

if you qualify for pell grants and loans... they will combine, isn't that how it works?
if your tuition is 10k, your pell grant is 2k and your loan is 12k or something... the gov't should have just not given you the pell grant. since its money that is wasted.
it should be applied only after all other awards/loans are received. |
That's the dumbest sh*t.... Why would loans take precedence over grants?

when looking at inflation, you look at the price of chicken... not of steak.

Lol. Refunds aren't a luxury.
Most of the time its from a loan that you have to pay back.
Flow.... |
i don't care about loans though lol.
if you're taking loans to go to school, and want to spend 5,000 bucks on a entertainment system ... gon head. most likely you're gonna avoid paying that sh*t back for the rest of your life. |
Then this is really a non discussion.
The only folks gettin' refunds from pell grants are nigguhs in CC. |

huh? what does what you are required to pay back AFTER you finish school have to do with need based grants?

business owners complain when minimum wage is raised. when sf raised theirs from 7 something to 8 something to 9 something now to 10.24 there were complaints and resistance everytime from business owners. they say it kills jobs. |
LMAO it does. It's an added cost of doing business.
Employees are the most expensive asset a business has.
|
yeah, so i notice. funny how regardless of the cost of wages, employers are always trying to replace people with machines or just force reg employees to extend their hours. it really doesn't matter whether minimum wage is 10 dollars or 7.50...there will be complaints. |
Or send jobs to India. I worked for an company that was bringing in record profits for the entire time I was there. I used to have to write the internal communications letter and they told me to stop announcing the new hires in the Chennai,India office because they would hire about 5-10 Indians a month and 1-2 Americans a quarter. My boss would get in to it with the CAO because they had money to hire but they would not let her expand our department.

Everything is going up or either your simply getting less for what you spend. I don't care what you say. Hell take chips for example. Lays used to be 25 cents & filled with chips. Now that sh*t is 35 cents and half air.

grants serve as money that the government will never get back. thats why. schools do this all the time with their scholarships.
students don't need 12k loans. but they take them out anyways. they're need based, if you're taking out a loan with more money than you need..
why should more money be awarded to that student? its wasteful.
