So if they are jailed then who's going to take care of the kids?  Do they go into foster care?

Jailing parents is a dumb solution to childhood obesity.  Typically fat kids have fat parents.  Education and behavior modification is the solution for those families.

+1... and i'd like to add...

the parents of ANY kid that is being fed improperly should be treated the same way.

fat kids aren't the only ones that are unhealthy. just because a kid is slim does not mean they are healthy either.

i know a lot of parents with slim kids whose main meals consist of fast food and junk food - EVERY DAY.

If your 4 year old is 120lbs and has type 2 diabetes and still crawls because walking hurts their poor knees, there is a problem.
This...

Over feeding your children can be just as hazardous to their health as starving them

I don't like seeing overweight kids even if they aren't obese.  I don't think they should be jailed, but they should be informed and made to take classes on healthy lifestyle and eating.

I agree .

I think some people abuse their children with food and yes they should be punished and evaluted mentally, and educated~ before they get their children back.... Just like those people who are horrders who have children living in feces filled rooms its ABUSE
