That's not solely why schools suck.  Have people spoken to teachers recently? I couldn't do it for the world.  There's a reason why retention rates for teachers are terrible.  Systems are not set up to support or encourage them.

You work like 200 days a year...get every holiday off....good benefits....very accommodating for women etc. 
Plus not everyone hates kids.

teachers are extremely underpaid and overworked...holidays don't pay off student loans

They're paid just as much as other people in social services.
Actually the people at my job....which is way more challenging....get paid way less.
Teachers be tryna fool yall having yall thinking they make pennies when a lot of places start out at 45k+ and they get more money for doing after school programs...summer school...standing in the lunchroom during lunch etc.

And there are gov't programs for teachers that help pay loans after teaching for so long.

teachers aren't going on strikes without cause
there are government assistance programs for various fields, doesn't mean people are actually being assisted

there's no incentive to do good work when there isn't decent support

i dont think it's a field i'd go to college and graduate school for...not at this time

They start teachers here in NC at $30,000/yr. We're at the bottom.
