You roll out of top school cutting and coloring very well.....

Paul Mitchell
Pivot Point
Vidal Sasson (my top choice)
Tricoci (where I attended...they okay)

Sandra I didnt attend a good one, I went to a hood one that ended up wasting my time. They were not keeping track of our hours , when they closed I had about a month of school left Confused.  Doors were padlocked  when we showed up the next day.

So whatever you decide to do, make sure its reputable.

Girrrl, they hadn't been doing nothing except taking our money and wasting our time. They were not even reporting our hours to the state board or whatever schools are required to do so when I was going to finish at another school they were only willing to give me credit for 300 hours and I could not see myself starting over again basically.

I wasn't that into it after starting school but I just hate not finishing stuff I start. I have learned anyway I don;t work well with people, so it was for the best.

Definitely go to school! Beauty school teaches you everything you need to know about your profession- and I'm not just talking about cutting hair or doing makeup. I'm talking about running your own business one day, PR, putting yourself out there and marketing yourself as an independent artist. I'm reading up on some reviews of Marinello in Reno and I like that they have flexible class timings- it works for anyone who wants to work and study at the same time.

Hey Divalious1 - I hope all is well with you! It's been three years and I am wondering how you are doing?

Are you working in a salon?

How hard was it for you to find a job at a salon after school?

You mentioned the bond weaving technique for white women - do you do much of that?

Does Paul Mitchell offer any weaving classes?

If you don't mind sharing, what are the earnings like per year?

Yes we have q makeup speciality class one a week. They teach you basics, like 5 minute makeup, smokey eye etc. If you want a full makeup education, you would probably be better off taking certification classes else where. For instance I'm in jersey and all the good Artists and makeup schools are 20 min away in new York, so I often find that I can take a weekend class or specialty course. Remember what u invest in this business will determine what you get back..
The class I took was a specialty class where the company came to our school and taught us as well as certified us in about 6 hours. We has to pay extra. But it was so worth it!!
Thanks for asking though...please feel free to ask me anything.
