Oxygen Says Daily Beast is Wrong: “All My Babies Mamas” was NOT Canceled

Allison Samuels from “The Daily Beast” recently wrote that, according to her sources, the new Oxygen show, “All My Babies’ Mamas” has been set for cancellation.  Samuels didn’t note the source of her information, but did attribute the cancellation to the extensive viewer backlash that the show has received since it was announced.

Now, the network itself is announcing that the show will go on.  In statement sent to Allhiphop.com, Oxygen is now claiming that the show has not been canceled and that the rumors are simply unfounded.

“This rumor is simply untrue. The project remains in early development,” an Oxygen rep told AllHipHop.com.

So, it appears that someone is lying or was misled.  Could it be the case that Samuels was lied to by someone or given information that was inaccurate?  It is also possible that the network is seeking to save face and not admit that public pressure led them to get rid of the show.  The accusations of racism will continue, and massive petitions have been filed against the show, gaining thousands of signatures.

ColorofChange.org, a company that has been successful in attacking major public figures by going after their corporate sponsors, announced that it is also seeking signatures in support of its efforts to get rid of the show.  If Oxygen is trying to hold its line, it’s sure to be in for a battle.
