But you have to think about how important a role she plays in your life. You can't really put a price on friendship and time. If you two were to fall out, would that affect you in any way?

IA.  At this point in time, my good friends know all I can do for them is treat them to dinner if I had $4k. The rest goes to bills and what not. Now, if my bestie needed something, then I would figure out something lol

The highest Federal tax bracket is 35%, so the Federal tax will be somewhat less than that -- just under 33% if you're single and have no dependents. Add 4.35% for MI income tax. Rounding off, you'll be looking at a net tax rate of around 37% total. That would leave you with about $630,000 for yourself.
