yes, it's very awkward and my only defense of the friend is that they do have a co-dependent relationship.  they do things for each other all the time so the lines are blurred.  this time my cousin just wanted to enjoy things for herself.

the only way i would help my friends out financially is if i won the lottery [and not like $1m. it would have to be in excess of $15m]

4k isn't enough to share to help pay off someones debt when you have your own.
