Topic: Self Installers, why not make money? Posted: Jan 06 2013 at 11:26am |
Self installers, why don't you do others hair? I get compliments and requests to do others hair a lot but I hate the hassle of the clients themselves who want you to turn sh*t to sugar in four hours. Reading a thread in the newbie weave section made me realize this. people have no weave knowledge and get mad when they don't leave looking like Beyonce even though they only have two tufts of hair to braid, leave out and blend. The people who do this for a living I commend you because I might have to cut some of yall........
So with that being said, what are the top reasons that keep you from being a career weaveologist?

I have been asked many of times to install. I'd just rather do my own because I am able to tweek it when necessary. I am not a master at doing installs but because I am able to work on mine over days that benefits me. Once folks start paying they want it done correctly the first time. I don't want the headache.

People ask me all the time. First I don't braid , second I can fix my hair according to my face to make it look good. Not sure if I can do that for others. If that makes any sender.

Firstly, I can only cornrow my own hair. And even then, it's "good enough" for wigs/weaves to hold on. Secondly, all the above reasons concerning people and their iffiness.

I never realized how taxing doing hair was on my body until I started doing it for other people. I dont make people sit on the floor and I stand when I do their hair. But anyway... its time consuming also. You have no idea how many times ive wanted to punch people, end "friendships", and stop dealing with people all together. People ask for extras, freebies, feel they can talk to you anyway they want because they're paying you... even my friends have wanted to pay what they have instead of the agreed price. I dont talk to 2 people anymore because of it lol... just venting, sorry!
