I know, its a damn shame, but it has been so long. How can I get the beads to stay. I used aluminum foil, but I think I am embarassing my baby at school with that. Rubber bands are supposed to be bad. So how do you secure the beads at the end of the braid?

rubberbands are o.k. for bead placement. i line up the beads on the braid & then fold the hair over the last bead & secure a rubberband, then pull the rest of the beads down over the rubberband. my girls hair have not broken off from this method at all.
Tongue i felt the same about the foil...my mom used to do my sister & my hair like that...looking back it was o.k. but now....no way! hth

Thanks! I did that too, but I didn't like the hair line on the bead. My baby's hair is thick so there is a big chunk and I have to use big beads so you can see the hair, but the foil. My fiance was like
Oh hellz no. Take the foil off!

I secure my braids with a rubber band(with beaded styles).  I put grease on the ends To protect the ends(it also weakens the rubber over time).  When its time to take out the hair I CUT the rubberband by picking a piece of the band at a time until I have cut all the rubber,  then I roll the old bands off.

Well you can purchase rubberbands that are snag free and will not break hair. Proclaim makes some. I used them on my daughter's hair all the time. When I'm ready to remove them, I just snip the rubber band off. HTH
