Topic: SebaMed Testimonials? Do you like it? Posted: Nov 03 2012 at 7:01pm |

So just came back from CVS. They were having a BOGO on SebaMed, Buy 1
Get 1 FREE now till 11/24/2012! I've been reading up on it since I'm
now hearing more buzz that it works for Eczema. Can anyone testify to
this? I'll be trying it out for the first time so I'm hoping the BOGO
was one of a few good things with this product.

I have tried the cleanser, lotion, cream, deodorant, soap, and something else. I don't have eczema per se but I do rash up when the weather becomes colder and drier. The lotion is very light IMO but it moisturizes fair enough. It's just that when I used it last year, I needed something heavier so I don't reapply. What I disliked about most of SebaMed products is the masking fragrance. It is too strong for me, although some folks might like it. It is one of the main reasons why I stopped using SebaMed. Plus I think the fragrance made me itchy or I was going through something else, I have no idea. The cream was nice but way too heavy for my face. For the record I have oily to combo skin that is sensitive. The deodorant was not compatible with my body chemistry. But it did help with the cyst I developed from heavily scented deodorants. I hated the soap on me. I am not sure.
I apologize for the ambiguity of my post but it has been two years since I tried SebaMed. I couldn't pinpoint which product was making me itch or maybe it was something else I was using at the time or maybe I was sunburned.
So have you tried the brand Dermasil?

It's alright, not wrong with ambiguity; you're still weighing.
I have not tried Dermasil. Is it anything comparable to Sebamed?
But so far I'm actually liking the SebaMed Lotion. The smell doesn't bother me so much. It's nothing fantastic, it's trying to be a mild unisex fragrance. The soap bars are straight-up Irish Spring smelling.
I posted in another thread in the Sensative Skin Forum:
"So it's just a few days in. I used the body wash yesterday and the
lotion yesterday and the day before. My bumps and rough skin are
depressing! I went out and bought 3 bottles of lotion and the 3 soap bar
value pack at CVS. Though the soap bars weren't marked as part of the
BOGO the price checker concluded they were so I had to pick them up
too! The soap bars smell like Irish Spring so be warned and they are
tinier than the usually soap bar. :/ I'll try them out tomorrow. But the
lotion is a must! "

A friend of mine loves it but then again she has extremely dry skin, not eczema per se. I have only tried their facial lotion and so far it is not bad. I wouldn't recommend it for those with dry skin per se since it seems to leave my face matte but who knows. I can only find Dermasil at the Dollar Tree so far. But I am glad that the SebaMed is working out for you. Maybe when I run out of the Aquaphillic lotion (prescribed by a doctor but it is in the same vein as Aquaphor and Eucerin IMO) and so far it is helping me.

Update: I need and love a good lather. The soap bars lather a little
more than the body wash but it's still unsatisfactory in that
department. I ordered a huge helping of goat milk glycerin soap from a
supplier and I'm using that to get the feeling of being clean--plus it's
vegetable based and not so hard on my skin. I then follow with the
SebeMed soaps.
I must say I'm dedicated to the lotion! It's
working like steroid creams I use for my eczema! My eczema is depressed
and scarring is fading.

You don't need lather, since it is merely a cosmetic effect. In fact lather tends to make the skin drier. But I am glad you are liking the SebaMed line.

That lather effect gets me very clean though so clean the foam is brown from all my dead skin cells. Oh for anyone with extreme eczema like me, so extreme you need a
steroid cream, the Sebamed lotion, face cream, soap bars, and body wash
are BOGO FREE till 11/24! The lotion is working like my steroid cream!
It's blowing me away! Costco is offering the lotion in a 2 pack with two
1 liter=33.8 ounces bottles (together 67.6 ounces) for $69.99. With the
CVS sale I've only spent $51.96 before tax and now have 2.79
liters=94.5 ounces worth of the lotion!
