Thoughts.   Ain't no way this would go down in the US....ever.   Ok....perhaps by 2300AD.

i'm interested in how it will be executed and the availability of electric vehicles. i think it's a great idea, however i know people in america will not like being told flat out that they "can't". suddenly, freedom would be in danger.

I think availability would be fairly easy considering Germany is a manufacturer.  IMO. I think to get around "being told what to do" ....not that being told what to do is right(?).  Like mentioned...give incentives to folks who go electric...tax deductions, deductions at purchase etc to electric/hybrid car drivers/purchasers but also....uhmm..not do sh*t for vehicles that are not in anyway environmentally friendly.  That way....ain't nobody exactly tellin' nobody what to do...make whatever decision is best for you.  Didn't we do tax deductions when the 'lectric car was first rolled off the assembly in the U.S some years back?

Not that i'm agreeing with tellin' folks what to do but when it comes to this type of thing alot of folks need incentive to do the right thing(?)  I was tryna be as PC as possible thus the "(?)"LOL

Would they help pay citizens to convert, though? 'Cus uh.. ain't nobody got time for their car to suddenly be illegal because of the way it is powered.

They better have a cash for clunkers program!

i could've sworn we did. the electric car concept seemed so poised to take of and didn't.  i had meant to see the doc, who killed the electric car to perhaps get an answer as to why.

with the grip that oil, gas and cars have on america financially and the american public in terms of muscle cars, toys and status symbols, i just don't see it happening here.

and i fully agree, sometimes people do have to be bribed like kids to do things.

yes.  in the form of a $7000(?) discount and other extra's from what I understand.  But also...u can have your gasoline powered car but it won't be allowed in within major City Centers.
