All that to say, love is not dead, love is misidentified.

not dead at all
the media isn't necessarily reality
I agree that a lot of people have been desensitized, are more emotionally detached and isolated than in the past ... but the world is big, lifestyles vary
love, intimacy, deep bonds certainly aren't dead

I must have missed the problem with this song. I think it was because I went through most of my life like that. I didn't really love them hoes. I had issues with trust, but I didn't see it as all that bad. It sure was FUN

Well at the end of the video, she cries, so I assumed she feels her way of living is unhealthy but can't stop herself.

It's definitely not dead but it seems like it's getting harder to find for young people. We live in an increasingly materialistic, individualistic, appearance obsessed , narcissistic and even trauma inducing society and it shows in every day interactions. People don't take as much time to get to know each other and give a relationship time to mature. It's easier to push that delete button at the first sign of a blemish. There has been a short period of my life that somewhat relates to what the song is talking about. People usually adopt these behaviours in an attempt to protect themselves from hurt (at the end of the day, it backfires, no need to say)

Men and women have had lots of sex with no emotional attachment or intimacy with the other person. To a lot of people sex is just a recreational act, like playing spades or getting on Facebook.
That doesn't mean that romance or true intimacy are dead though.
