I used the distilled white vinegar and it  worked wonders...and it doesn't smell as bad as the apple cider vinegar. But if you let it air dry and soak it in some fabric softener with water it will smell fabulous. I'm soaking all my wigs in fabric softener now because I'm so hooked on the smell.

I run deoderant over the hair. The solid white kind (like dove). It works everytime. It leaves the hair smelling nice too

Okay....I'm having PROBLEMS...
 
I bought a mowtown wig...did the soaking in vinegar....for like 3 hours....did the fabric softner....for like 6 hours....and it still is shiny???
 
I messed up last time with the white powder....I guess I put too much...any suggestions???

Oh, I was gonna say boiling water would kill the shine but since it's a curly wig that won't work without ruining the style. Unhappy sorry
