Tired of that super shiny high gloss yes it's a synthetic wig look. Well this is for you.

I hate when women hate on synthetic hair because it's not Indian Remy or some other womans hair, so I wanted to give those of you this tip I got from a white girl at my job.

Soak wig in a cup of distilled vinegar with a bucket of water for 5 hrs.
Let air dry on wig head, then put a cap full of fabric softener in a big bowl or bucket of water and let hair sit in for 5 hours. Put wig back on styrofoam wig head and let completly air dry and use these wig wands and powder to finish off.

This actually worked on synthetic and one of my Chinese Silky units. I hope this helps anybody who deters from wearing wigs because of the shine. Embarrassed

Thanks for that tip.  I do something similar.  I soak in a mixture of vinegar, shampoo, and water.  Wring out all the water, towel dry, airdry the wig.  Most of the shine is removed at this point, if not I add a little baby powder to my hands and run them over the wig.

I must have done something WRONG...I put powder on a quick weave to eliminate the shine....then.....later when I needed to wash it....it was a mess....it had all this white dust balls on it after washing it....so....

Once you put the powder....can you never wash it???
Did I not use enough shampoo....I don't think I used any....I think I just soaked it in water....

Maybe that was the mistake

How much powder did you use? You're not supposed to use much, use a very very light/small amount.

^I've heard good things about using apple cider vinegar to reduce shine.
