Hi Lovelies...

I'm on the hunt for a second job. I'm tired of my boring, blah, Times New Roman, colorless resumes...I wanna spice mine up. I'm thinking of creating a template/layout like this for my resume...

Professional or not?

It depends on what field you are in.

Doesn't look very professional, imo.

Google Docs (Drive now?) has a lot of cool templates.
Better to play it safe and just find one with a bolder, more interesting font or layout.

i wouldn't spice it up, but make it concise and easy to read
no one's going to want to look through all that

Pick a darker color if you want to do this, keep the font in the body a serif (you can go sans serif with your name but nothing too facy), make sure it stays one page

Forget that interest crap. They are not reading that or care. Right now they want somebody with experience so put that first, keep it simple, the person will be going through 50+ resumes and if you make it difficult then you will go in the reject pile

Keep it one-two pages... Bullet point things that you've done in your positions and also tailor your resume to fit the positions you are applying..

Really depends on the industry.  In the creative field, I think it would be expected and appreciated, but in others, it may come off as a ploy or a cry for attention.
