Hey ladies,

I'm looking to invest in a good quality flat iron so that I can do my own hair. I've heard ceramic/tourmaline thrown around a lot, as well as to look for one that goes up to at least 400. My question is, what flat iron do you use that gives you those flawless results? (I've seen the pics Thumbs%20Up)

So as you respond, please remember to inclde:

- the full name of it (some brands have like 6 different types)

- your hair type

- pictures (if you have them)

ALL are welcome to respond because I want this to be a resource for everyone, although I especially wanna hear from my 4a sistas (shout out!)

Lookin forward to your responses!

Welcome Ladragon. Smile Quite the testimony there ^^. I hope you get your camera working soon, I would love to see that "before" and "after."

*even though I really don't need another flat iron*

I have had the MaxiGlide for a very long time and I have been very happy with it. I also have an FHI Runway which I'm not as fond of but I'm tryin' to like it because it is supposed to be even easier on your hair (healthwise) than the MG.

I have the Solia and I like it a LOT.  It's a very good flat iron and it gets hot enough to straighten with only one pass through my hair.  It doesn't burn my hair and I haven't experienced heat damage either.  My hair type is 3c/4a I guess.  I have pictures in my fotki.

my current flat iron is a ceramic iron called the Lena Professional with tourmaline. its a digital iron that has a heat range of 250-400 degrees. i only need one pass through my hair and my hair will stay straight for two weeks regardless of rain or humidty. so far i haven't noticed any damage in terms of split ends, breakage, white ends, etc. and i don't trim(i use it on 400 w/a heat protectant). i also flat iron every 2 weeks. i previously used the revlon iron w/the gold plates which made my hair super straight, but burned it even though i used the lowest heat setting...that gave me massive breakage. anyway, i purchased it at ULTA for $29.99 and my pic is my avatar.

edit: forgot to add the link:
