You can't help it isf something comes across your mind. But you don't have to entertain that thought. You can push it out of your mind or let it pass.

she said deliberate thoughts.  So I guess I'mma need some examples of deliberate thoughts vs accidental thoughts.  Cuz I dont try to verbalize &  offend ppl unless they do it first.  I keep it to myself.  But to say my thoughts are a sin....  I'mma need some recieptsLOL

If you think about it you know the difference.

I'm just curious but I am fairly serious. But in a light-hearted way. Christians should want to please God but do we (want to)? How much different would the world be if we practiced? Do we give ourselves an out by saying we make mistakes? Do we take His forgiveness for granted?

I know I sound really serious here but I'm just being hypothetical.
I'm not a religious person. I don't follow any religions but I do try to live my life as morally as possible. In a non religious sense, I do admit my mistakes. I really can't properly answer your question because the only "him" I look forward to pleasing is my husband

And see this is something I'll never understand. We are humans that comes with a wide range of emotions and thoughts. So it's basically a sin to be human. What person doesn't have thoughts and urges? I can think what I want. What should matter is if I act on that thought or not.

I don't get it.

The bold is pretty much what I got out of it.

I was taught that just having the thought was a sin and that there was no way to really avoid having bad thoughts because humans were built to sin, you were just supposed to ask for forgiveness as soon as possible.

Didn't work for me.

But Christians should aim for perfection, no? That's what the commandments are for. You can try and fail. But have you ever tried?

perfection???? I'm going to speak for myself as a woman of God how I used the word of God and the commandments are for my daily struggle with the world that I face. But to say that I sould be perfect is pushing it, even Jesus knew that "we" as human being are going to make mistake.
