I can't see it happening without severely hindering happiness and becoming a shell of yourself. Not worth it to me but then again, I don't base my faith in the bible alone.

Ima leae this thread though cause she does seem quite serious.
*clears throat* |
I'm just curious but I am fairly serious. But in a light-hearted way. Christians should want to please God but do we (want to)? How much different would the world be if we practiced? Do we give ourselves an out by saying we make mistakes? Do we take His forgiveness for granted? I know I sound really serious here but I'm just being hypothetical.

i'll try to think though. |
I see what you mean. But then following your own code that you've tweaked to your own tastes isn't really a challenge.

i think i have basic catholic morals. minus the sex stuff.

And do you think most Christians put forth an earnest effort? I don't. And I don't think most do either.

Well depends on their level of Christianity...Idk if I can judge the efforts of others bc I just don't know. I feel like most people just try to avoid the 'big' sins like adultery, fornication, etc.

To be fair, watching, reading PICS is more than a thought. It's an act.

Yup yup. I figured out that since nobody can avoid sin, if hell is real everybody's going anyway (christians and non) so I might as well not be christian and live life without all the stress and being forced to wake up early on sunday's.

Well a deliberate thought is an act imo. If you don't rebuke it.

I don't think most avoid even that but I see what you mean about most people thinking some sins are no big deal. I think what makes it so hard is the negative influences we encounter everyday. People will harden you. When a person goes out into the work force, etc, she will encounter people who are not on the same path and do not want to be. I'm not talking about myself but just hypothetically. People drag each other down. That's a random thought but I think that's the biggest obstacle.
