For every 1 Starbucks coffee spot in Midtown Manhattan, there are 5 hole-in-the-wall churches in our communities with an "entertaining", feel-good pastor.
The fact that our people are steeeeel in such a sh!tty, crime-written, spiritually dead and lackadaisical state should tell you something...

Just to clear everything up with the whole entertaining thing, yes as a young person he kept my attention, but his passion for christianity and being a young man himself made it inspiring and wanted me to know more.
When your passionate about something people are moved by that. It just made me interested.

I personally think just trying to be kind, generous, and charitable towards other people (in thoughts and actions) is very difficult in the world we live in. |
you think? i would think this would be the easiest to do.

hmmmmm i can see how this could be difficult in certain circumstances...

again, this seems like it would be easy.

really spending as much time as you possibly can reading and studying the word and praising god and witnessing to others...those are all really difficult, especially for young people.

I mean, there is nothing that I can think of to get rid of temptations (besides masturbate, unless you dont want to do that either.) It might also make it easier to surround yourself with people like you. Go make some strict Christian friends.

i don't agree. faith is a feeling. you can't give all you have to a religion without believing in your heart and soul in its primary claim.

If you dont mind why aren't you a christian anymore? |
Because I figured out that I don't believe in the Christian god or the idea of heaven/hell or Jesus being anybody's savior. My morals/ethics/life philosophy are somewhat based on christianity...but only inasmuch as christianity does contain some universal truths, just like many other religions.

well...i'm convinced a good number of the hole-in-the-wall, alley cat, storefront churches are fronts to launder money...

I go to church every Sunday, and today we had a guest pastor who made me almost want to really convert to Christianity he was amazing boy he was entertaining and stayed on topic through his amazing stories.
What really captivated me was the fact he was an ex-Muslim raised by a Sunni muslim father so you know that was a serious conversion.
My father is Muslim as well, so I know how serious muslims are about their religion. Anywayyyys I want to know how many of you are young christians, and is it hard to be a young person and live a strict lifestyle in a worldly society? |
I think God touch you today . I would continue to attend church , speak with a deacon or pastor and follow your heart . You will sin regardless of your age . No one is free from sin . Talk to the ladies in the religion forum . I hope you give your life to christ as a young person if you feel you are ready.

being interested doesn't mean you should automatically feel compelled to convert. Juicy J has me interested in poppin a molly. I didnt go right out and find my local drug dealer though.
I think you're skipping a step which is educating yourself on the religion.
but that's just me and what I would do. At the end of the day this a personal decision that affects no one but you. So how you choose to go about it completely up to you.
