I recently cut my hair really short. Its about an inch and a half in the back.  Someone told me that I need to get a relaxer every two weeks in order for it to look right.  Is this healthy for my hair? What should I do?

If I would relax my hair every 2 weeks (which I probally wouldn't)  I would have to Make Sure that the relaxer only got on the new growth.

Even for a really short style i don't think you should get your hair relaxed so often. I would wait the minimum which is 6 weeks.

2 weeks is way too soon.  It'll do more damage than good.

I don't think you would have enough NG to relax.

If your hair is short and you're not worried about length, then it shouldn't be that big of a deal.  If you're simply going for looks and not health, then whatever.  When your hair is that short, the damage is just going to be cut off in no time anyway.  However, that being said, try to at least wait to 3-4 weeks, 4 weeks optimally.  It may not be as big a deal for the hair, but applying chemicals so near the scalp that frequently may not be a good idea.  I am more concerned about your poor scalp after all of those frequent retouchesLOL.

I agree.

You can flat iron your hair instead, that would be a much better alternative.

I knew of a girl that did that and her hair never grew past a certain point.  And on top of that she colored her hair.
