I'm new to the whole relaxer/texturizer thing. I'm trying to style my hair like Louis Saha (relaxed mohawk). I tried using a texturizer but it just softened my curls instead of straightening them. I want to try again using an actual relaxer. How long should I wait before I try again?

I'd say 2 weeks, so you have plenty of time to dc. When you next apply stay away 1 inch from your scalp until you are done applying then go back and fill in. The heat of your scalp will make it process faster and you don't want it to overprocess or break off.
