Topic: relaxed hair problems Posted: Dec 24 2012 at 3:31pm |
Has anyone every had problems with moisturizing and sealing? I have relaxed 4b apl hair and its hard for me to soften it . i feel tht i have done everything and that something still isnt working. I have seen many relaxed hair girls rave about moisturizing and sealing and that their hair looks soft and shiny and it has MOVEMENT. Also with the softness of the new growth, idk wht to do. i have tried olive oil, water with moisturizer.... and it does not soften it to the maximum 100 percent.an it is poofy. I have poofy new growth and my relaxed hair sticks together when moisturizer is put it in it. the strands stick together and its really frustrating. my sister doesnt do anything to her hair and her new growth is soft and manageable and her hair is soft and shiny and smooth and ...managable. I just need help. ( i have moisturizers and sealing oils but i just cant seem to soften my hair 100 percent)

are you kidding me? same here! it's so frustrating and for weeks i've been experimenting with this and that, and the part that frustrates me the most is when im done co-washing and add a moisturizer and seal, it's right back dry hours later! I've tried water, conditioner, bronner bros moisturizer, cantu leave in condit and moisturizing oil as moisturizers and olive oil, coconut oil, castor oil and canola oil as sealants. Im hoping someone else replies !

omg! i thought i was the only one! i know moisturizing and sealing is good for your ends but i have yet to master it! i deep condition,pre-poo,baggy,and everything else possibly moisturizing and it will feel soft at the moment then the softness will just fizzle out. or it will be soft (but dry feeling kinda rough) I know its not impossible for my hair to be moisturized and soft. but i am willing to work hard to achieve healthy hair. Thank you for replying! and yes i hope someone else replies too.

Hello chick i believe that everyone goes through this.. You can try a few things but first you need to find the problem; hair balance etc.. You can pree poo and leave some conditioner in and rinse with cold water. You can use organic coconut oil in your pree poo and add some to wet or dry hair with a drop of leave in. If your flat ironing your hair and you want bounce, you should leave in a little cond and blow dry hair with cold air (takes for ever). add heat protectant make sure you hold the can away from hair atleast 5-6inches then, add just a little coconut oil to dry hair and ends, and flat iron in sections and be sure to follow the hair with a comb after appling heat. Be sure to wrap your hair because HEAT CAUSE DAMAGE AND DRIES OUT THE HAIR... You may even want to give your hair a break in a protective style for like 2 weeks and use Hello Hydration.. Good luck

yeah i wish that worked, coconut oil is useless on my hair. another thing is my edges are theee driest , and can never stay moisturized. like, my hair it can be, but at least it doesnt dry up as fast as my edges, i have no clue what to about that. last night i tried warm water, conditioner, and castor oil. it stayed on my hair but my edges feel rough !

Maybe the water is your problem. You know some conditioners have water in them. If coconut oil isn't working try johoba oil (spell chk) it works good. Did you try hello hydration and coconut oil yogether then did the baggy method, or just use the johoba oil to replace the coconut oil... Just keep trying you will find your hairs best friend soon..

castor oil doesn't do squat for my edges alone, thats why i tried the water + condit combo. im @Godshallgivemelocks, im opposite of you lol with my new growth reasonably soft and easy to manage, but my edges are rough and annoying, grr!
