Curlformers. They are pricy.

I use the Long and Narrow version. 1 pack is 11.99 and I use 4 of them.

Then the stupid little tool is 3.99 on top of that.

They are difficult to sleep in and if you're not careful using the tool you can snag your hair.

But you can sit underneath a dryer with them. I use the hood attachment with my hair dryer for 10 min off and on for about an hour and then sleep.

There are some curlformers knockoffs on ebay but they only have one size. I think they are called Magic Leverage.

And they are called rollers but I think in essence it is a type of banding method because once your sectioned hair is pulled through the mesh roller it is shaped by the roller.

But my hair comes out really nice. I am actually supposed to be doing a presentation on how to use them at a local organics store here in S. FL once I can get together with the owner regarding scheduling.

Z, the curlformers have no metal in them. It's all mesh.

I tried curlformers on my weave and it kept snagging the hair. No matter how gentle I was or how thin the sections of hair was I used.

Terrified of trying them on my own hair.

do curlformers hold the hair tight (enough to stretch natural hair)?

do you lottabody or a setting lotion?

I may try these ...

neat--I've never seen those curlers before.

But do you get the same look w/ flexi rods?  I got some of those when I had a text on my hair and it came out looking like that pic above.

It does some stretching yes. But it flattens the section in the roller so that's why it comes out looking so smooth.

And I use a soft hold styling gel by Qhemet Biologics along with babbasu oil mixed with JBCO.

This is generally what it looks like when you just pull them out and don't finger them through.

This is how it looks on some natural hair:
