So...I did this a few days ago. Im still in the transitioning phase (3 months). It definitely works well. It defined the curls in my new growth pretty well.
One thing that irritates me is when no one elaborates on how they applied their things.
I just took my hair out of braids...didn't use a paddle brush or anything just finger combed it. Sectioned my hair into 4 parts and applied the peanut butter to the roots and smoothed it out. Let it sit for an hour and a some minutes.
Rinsed my hair in warm water for a few minutes in sections. Then I shampooed my hair, still in sections making sure to shampoo my roots and insured that the peanut butter still wasn't in my scalp. Left deep conditioner on for a few minutes rinsed. One thing I noticed while washing my hair is that it was shedding, noticeably. But I think that maybe because I didn't bother detangling my hair, I usually detangle it before I wash my hair.
Afterwards I blow dried my hair, there was little shedding even when I used my paddle brush.
My hair feels a lot more stronger now BUT it feels a lot rougher than it usually does. I'm thinking that's because the peanut butter defined my lil new growth kinky pretty well. There is no peanut butter smell left in my hair...I washed it pretty well.
All in all...I'll be doing it from now on.
