Nefertiti by Michelle Moran ... it is about the Queen Nefertiti in Egypt. I was looking for something different to read and this was it.  Even though it is a historical novel it is very readable and I love how the author describes the way of life in Egypt during that time.  She goes into detail about the style of makeup and the hairstyles of the time.  I have been researching Egypt obsessively since I read this book.

I know this is old, but thank you for suggesting this! I loved it! I think I read all 3 of her books in about a two week time span. I literally read about 4-5 books a month (all non fiction) and this was very refreshing. It was history but with just enough fiction to keep it interesting.  Ive been watching Dr. Zahi on the history channel ever since and I cannot wait to go see the King Tut exhibit in the city. LOL Now, if I can book that vacay to Italy and Egypt Id be set!
