I caved and signed up for Audible. I got the cheapest plan which is 14.95 a month or something like that. The plan gets you one audio book a month, any audio book of your choice. Plus you get discounts if you choose to purchase additional books beyond your allotted credits. The prices are so ridiculous that it really is cheaper to have the plan. For my free book I chose IT by Steven King. I chose it because I've never read it and the recording is like 45 hours and I wanted bang for my buck. I got through two chapters today. It's very well written but not necessarily scary to me. Very well performed though.
I still don't see why the recordings are so expensive. Like, wtf. Movies cost way more to make and are nowhere near those prices. They'd sell way more if the prices were reasonable. They trippin.
