The older I get the more appreciative of Africa and more African I become.

Cherry, do you identify more with being black Brit or African/Nigerian more?

Definitely Nigerian/African! I'm black British when it suits me to be (lol yes BNP this is my country too!LOL) but tbh, in terms of culture, Britain offers nothing, at least nothing good imo. 

Language is a big part of cultural connection and I'm grateful for my folks teaching me Yoruba. It wasn't seen as 'cool' for them to do that when we were younger, other Naija parents looked down on them for it.

its true though

when we i have kids, they'll learn to speak both languages or all if mom and dad arent from the same place

too many africans have inferiority complexes .. i dont like first gen kids who cant speak their native tongue
