Bossy!

Timing of said gifts is everything IMO. Are you buying gifts to apologise? Do you want something in return? Are you looking for favour?

What precedes your gift and what follows them?

I swear I watch the movie "Tsotsi" from start to finish everytime it comes on even though I've seen it too many times.

That movie is in my top 10.

Embarrassed well i am the first girl to scream on the track. *giggles*

true of the bolded. no i don't want anything in return-- ok thank you would be nice. other than that, i want you to enjoy your gift.

my thought process is usually: oh look at  ___. so & so likes ____. (s)he would adore that. *purchase*

no more, no less. i think of people.

and as a leo, i'm a buyer. it's never like extravagant. just bobs & bits that say, hey-- i thought about you.

eta: for the record, i don't do apology gifts. the most tangible you're getting from me is a handwritten apology, a hug and/or kiss.

hmmm. thank you & that's what i thought.

background: at the time the i didn't know the person well (he puts on the shows i see on thursdays). he was having a toy drive for christmas. and i think my rep for loving christmas is WELL known in these streets. Cool so i gave toys. every week we went, i brought a bag or 2. and that's when she made a comment that sparked the original question.

so now i find myself in a similar circumstance. i got someone a gift, a pose-able figurine. we're not personal friends. i saw it and thought of them. however, i gave it knowing that it was incomplete. now, i found the pieces that go with the figurine. will that person think i'm trying to buy them?

it sounds silly that i'm thinking so much over gift giving, but i don't like being misunderstood or possibly offensive through my actions.

It's funny how I was never scared of thunder and lightening when I was a child, but right now my grown ass is in the fetal position under my blanket
