I miss my hair, but I'm serious about protective styling this season.

Femme and CC- Crisco for me is more of a pressing cream. In my research, I found that Crisco boils at 425 degrees, so one should use the iron at a lower setting. So in that sense, its a 'heat protectant'- if ya get my drift. I had no sizzling or burnt hair or smell. It will be a part of my pressing regie for the Winter.

Oh I hear you. Hopefully we both reach our goals and can refrain from a chemical treatment. :)

I did my first rough attempt at a braids out with gel. I figured might as well try and make the ecostyler gel useful. I did tow massive sloppy braids, slept on them, then took them out hours later in the day. It turned out pretty well considering. I'm trying it again today, but just sloppy ones. I'll try a legitimate twist/braid out another day.

@Aerie,I am pretty sure I will texlax. I'm at the point in my life where I can't set aside 3 hours everytime I detangle/wash/ect. I love my natural hair; It just takes way too long for me to achieve the styles I want. Small 2 strand twists take me hours, like 6 hours.

^How long is your hair? It gets easier as you gain length.
