i washed my hair last night which is something i rarely do because going to bed with damp hair often gives me a stiff neck.  i used ors aloe shampoo but instead of diluting it i used it full strength.  i read the directions and it says to leave on 2-3 minutes (i don know why but i did it).  i conditioned with tresseme split remedy which is another thing i normally wouldnt do.  i only use this conditioner when my hair is really tangled or if i know im going to straighten my hair.  i then twisted and trimmed my ends.  now im thinking i should take this opportunity to blow out my hair and give it good trim.  trimming with twists is fine but your just cutting off the longer pieces and the hair that really needs to get trimmed (shorter pieces) never get touched.

Maaaan... -_-

I don't know what to do w/my hair anymore.

I finally find a conditioner and anti-breakage serum (OGX Coconut Milk) that it loves, but now I'm having styling issues.

My hair...is THICK.  THIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK.

Like...it took me 75 curformers just to do my whole head.  The set came out horrible, btw.  I don't know if I just didn't give the gel enough time to set or if I needed to use another gel, or no gel, or what -_-

It's just too thick.

I tried 2 strand twistouts and bantu knots, and that just gave me a puffball head with slight curls.

GRRRRRR

The only option for me, I guess, is to douse my hair in Eco Styler and go around with stiff hair that's that weird combo of wavy curly my natural pattern does -_-

I've even considered relaxing, just because I feel like my frustration and thickness is making my hair so hard to get even a detangling comb through to the point where I'm just breaking off the ends...but the one thing I love about natural hair is the ability to moisturize with water, and I'd lose that with relaxing.

Try making the sizes/parts of your bantu's smaller. Mine were looking like donut holes when I would take them down. I was doing my knots to big, not letting them completely dry and using too much product. Are you doing 2 strand twists then knotting or just twisting it single strand and knotting?

When I make them smaller, my hair looks like puffy worms, lmfao

I have a very weird hair type, Ion'een'know.... -_-

my best bet is the eco styler gel saturation.  It's the only thing that didn't make my hair puffy

Whyyyy didn't I test it before applying this stuff? I did it after the fact and saw how clumpy and nasty these products looked mixed together. I applied that crap to my hair yesterday and it came out pure white and rough feeling. I JUST clarified my hair like 3 days ago now I have to do it again because of the crazy build up.

75?! Whew. CLC, use your usual hair products on wet hair and then try sitting under a blow dryer for about 30 min next time you do curlformers to ensure they are 100% dry before you take them out. You might have to wait until the summer humidity calms down to get a frizz free set.

I have let chlorine and salt water affect my hair lately but it was so worth it lol.

I will be detangling, trimming and DC'ing this weekend before bunning it up.

i ended up straightening my hair yesterday.  its a shame because i never even try to do a good job. my main goal is fast not silky straight.  oh well the deed is done and in a bun.  i still need to go back in an do a proper trim but *shrugs*  i dont want my hair getting used to all this attention.

i want to say that my hair looks a lot thicker but didnt i just say i didnt even do proper straightening so its probably just the puffy.

so the sad part is that im back to waist length stretched after my cutting my texturized ends off in november.  it took 8 damn months to get back were i started from.  i should probably work on this breakage at my crown but i dont feel like thinking about it right now.

Yeah, I think I took them out too early.

Will try again, and give it at least half-a-day to dry.

I also used ElastaQP's foaming gel when I did it--I think that was the problem, wasn't giving me a good hold at all.
