HELP!

I have dry hair Cry  I've always suspected it was dry, but I'm not a professional.  My stylist friend told me that my hair looked dry -- and you know if it looks dry, it more than likely is.

I've noticed some breakage in the back, but I've credited it due to differences in texture.  Though, now that I think about it, I am (and have been) natural . . . Hair shouldn't break off (at the ends) should it? Confused

I'm starting to get paranoid.  I want to retain my growth!  What products can I use to add some much needed moisture to my hair?  Coconut oil?

Thanks! Star

I'm going to do a few deep conditioning treatments tomorrow (one with my co-wash, which contains a bunch of natural oils and another with a regular deep condition).  Hopefully the DC and conditioner will do the trick.

Good Luck!!
I have added olive oil and bragg liquid aminos to all my conditioners. So I am always doing a hot oil treatment along with my conditioners and co washes.  But even though you are deep conditioning, don't forget to apply oil and moisturizer (moisturize and seal) to the hair every night before you sleep and cover head with a conditioner cap (GHE) or a satin bonnet.

So, after washing and deep conditioning and oiling my hair, it still felt dry (like straw almost).  It's still soft and bouncy; however, it's noticeably drier Ouch

I'm going to continue with the daily oiling to see what it does for me.

Thanks, Lady for the hair luv!

Cleo is feeling and smelling good after washing her yesterday. As she's gotten longer and I lazier, I noticed that wash day doesn't have to take hours on end, even when she's tangle city. I noticed that my curls are starting to hang more when wet and when I dry with my Hubby's t-shirt that she stays elongated more before ultimately shrinking. I'm glad this hhj us still fresh going on 10 yrs.

Ita with Lady in regards to oiling. Sounds like your on the right track. If your hair has been looking and feeling dry for awhile, it's gonna take a minute for her to rebound. What about incorporating baggying? I would also suggest heavy sealing with Vaseline or Crisco. Ya hair is craving moisture, but you need to ensure that the moisture is locked into the strands.

Similarly, watch out for over moisturizing. Granted ya hair is craving moisture due to its dry appearance and feel. But, it's also breaking which is a result of the dryness and lack of strength. Your hair probably could benefit from a light protein product too. You could incorporate a biweekly protein dc in the mix followed by a moisturizing co wash. Moisture and protein balance is key, Doll. HTH😃
