Thoughts on the below??:

"Sometimes I wonder whether the increasing rift between the humanities and STEM is being encouraged. STEM has an incredible power to benefit humanity, particularly in helping the poorest or least "developed" among us and among the "less-developed" countries. But, as we can see, that isn't exactly what is happening. The best STEM-degreed students don't go into this kind of work; they go into the businesses where the salaries are highest.

One of the important benefits of humanities, is, as you noted, an understanding of the world and the people in it. An understanding of our culture, our economic system, the social forces that shape our lives despite our best efforts, etc., all of this can be learned through the humanities and social sciences. To keep this knowledge from those who are studying STEM and to tell them constantly that they are the elite is taking away their revolutionary power to change the world for the better and instead encourages them to work for the highest bidder...which tends to be the elite.

The elite benefit from telling people with STEM degrees that the humanities have nothing to offer. They can then take the labor of a scientist or engineer and create more wealth for themselves. By denying the power of a cultural and social understanding, we end up with these scientists and engineers who, as you noted, have contempt for the people, the poor, the immigrants, other cultures, and the oppressed. They are less likely to choose to work towards the benefit of the poor and exploited and instead work for the benefit of the powerful."

mostly psych studies. It's funny because I did one last week where they lied about what the study was about.. But I've been doing so much that I pretty much knew what it was about 5 minutes in.
I do linguistic studies, economics studies, and sociology studies too. All of them are through my school. The most I've made was $90 for 2 hours, but It's usually between $10-$20 for 1 or 2 hours.

Ugh the psych studies at my old school were all un-paid. They were for extra credit in our (psych) classes.

I participated in some eye movement study.. nothing interesting.

Yes but I'm 99% sure it's just for students at my school. Don't quote:

I mean like a website similar to a job search site, but for studies instead.. but like you can put your location to filter results.
