have you tried camomile tea?

Thank you, I'll try this tonight. I may also look into the castor oil if it persists, I've never heard of that before! My only problem is that bipolar insomnia can't be treated like normal insomnia. It doesn't respond to most things. I can FEEL my body producing melatonin once it gets dark out, but my body is unable to sleep no matter how tired I am. Even sleeping pills are useless to me. The worst part is that when I finally do get to sleep, I'm only half-asleep the entire time. Sometimes my dreams get so bad I can feel my heart racing while I'm asleep, and I'll wake up feeling like I'd been out running all night long.
The chronic insomnia is giving me daily migraines now. Today I developed kaleidoscope vision and couldn't workout...

Um, that needs to get checked out asap! Do you have days where it gets better?

ohhhh i'm so sorry you're going through that hun

i have pterigium which is a growth on the eyes and was Google natural solution cause medically i can only do surgery to remove them and i'm more of an all natural kinda girl so while i was researching came across a forum that some of them used the castor oil but others were responding that it worked for them as a solution to insomnia.

look into it natural cures too cause a lot of times these meds that are handed out like candy do so many other damages to us and they give us more meds to "cure" the symptoms of the previous meds. one of the side effects of some depression pills is that it makes you suicidal... like wth right? sometimes people just need to have someone to talk to not be pumped full of drugs.

i had depression as a teenager and sometimes still get it now but mine is due to hormone imbalance and i was on meds for a couple months which did help to balance it in my teens but now i find maca and vitamin b12 has helped to balance me. also certain birth control pills in the past actually made it worse.there are other adaptogens like ashwaganda which you can research.

have you looked into different types of relaxation techniques cause maybe even though your body is tired and sleepy your mind is still overactive and doesn't "shut down" finding ways to calm your mind may also be helpful yoga, meditation, tai chi, prayer

Thanks again. I know the easiest way to cure it would be to see a doctor and get on some type of bipolar medication. But that's something I'm not willing to do. Like you, I hate anything that needs a prescription. :/ In the past, birth control messed up my hormones so bad I'm still struggling with the side effects two years later. I'm not about to try anything else ever again. Natural really is the way to go.

It's good that maca can balance your moods. I know it doesn't help mine completely, but I think it does help tone down the hormonal aspects of the mood swings I guess, which is good. Natural cures are so much better. Lol

Maybe I'll try something for relaxation like you mentioned. But again, bipolar insomnia is very tricky, so I'm not holding my breath. Usually I just wait it out, and when it finally goes away I deal with the hypersomnia that takes its place, where I can't drag myself out of bed no matter how much sleep I get. It's a terrible cycle, but usually the insomnia doesn't last this long at all. The only other time I've really had insomnia this bad before was when I was in a car accident and had a pretty bad concussion. Over time, the exhaustion of that insomnia caused me to become completely unstable in every way, and I tore off a piece of my car on a rock because I couldn't drive properly (although I fully blame my job for that because they threatened to fire me for not coming into work because of it, even though I had already filed for worker's comp for the concussion).

I found some pretty good apple shaped workouts on Youtube. Now I just need to get busy! I am really going to attempt to do a 10 minute workout tonight. Maybe after I wash the dishes, cook dinner, and wash clothes I will be on an energy high I gotta start somewhere if I'm I don't wanna look so apple-ish by next summer!

I workout every day but skipped yesterday because I felt too exhausted. I hope that gives me extra energy for today's exercises. I need motivation because I'm feeling less and less eager to do these every day exercises.
