So I'm taking my prerequisites now for radiology but I have been told there is a 5 year waiting list for the program from different classmates. I thought about information technology but wasnt sure if it would be hard to get a job in that major or to make good money because I just want an associates degree. Suggestions?

*Maybe try looking at different schools in your area or an area that is close too you. I live in fl and the radiology program isn't as hard to get into as oppose to nursing . you only need a 2.0 and all science pre reqs needs to be finished. there are no waiting list. btw that's soo ridiculous that their waiting list is 5yrs by the time you enter into the program you loose all interest.

An Associate’s degree in IT fields like computer technology, programming, networking, etc. will qualify you for entry-level and support roles. So, to answer your question, it is possible to get IT jobs with just an AS degree. It mostly depends on the kind of IT job you’re interested in. The role of a software engineer, for example, may not be available to graduates of Associate programs. But roles like tech support specialist, programmer, etc. can be secured with an Associate degree.

I would personally recommend a http://www.cc-sd.edu/ination-technology - computer programming degree program simply because of the exciting job possibilities this field offers such as web development, game development, mobile apps development, etc.

go with IT if the waiting list is that long

I'm not really surprised honestly because a lot of people are trying to get into imagining programs. However, most of the guys I've met are all in IT & doing pretty decent. I know a girl who works for the government and does IT. She's been able to do a lot with just having a Bachelor's (she has a Master's now though)

Stands for "Information Technology," and is pronounced "I.T." It refers to anything related to computing technology, such as networking, hardware, software, the Internet, or the people that work with these technologies.
