Visiting in HongKong and Japan, people have stared at me but that's about it.  The one thing I've noticed about Japanese culture that if you're part japanese, they don't care, it doesn't count and don't try to front.  You're not one of them, that kind of hurt the first time I went b/c I was so excited about learning  more about that side of my family and I literally had to lie about being related to my aunts around their elderly friends so they wouldn't get flack about having black relatives.  I could go into a whole rant about japan and they're race issues and stereotypes, just like ranting on black culture but for now i"m just gonna zip it.

have there been any countries you have visited that you felt alienated in or were blatantly predjudiced against due to your skin colour?

Spain-It's takes some getting used to, but people will always stare, but I never felt like I was treated differently.

France-No problem. Lots of black everywhere.

Mexico City- everyone stared bc its not really that big of a tourist spot, i think most of the staring was curiosity and not racism. I went to this club called bambaatas and i was like a celebrity Star they were all like u dance like the girls on tv lmao..thats what 4 palomas and 1 cuba will do to you

Well, I haven't been overseas, but I've visited Canada.  I felt pretty comfortable.  There are plenty of multiracial people there.

In Argentina, there aren't that many black ppl. They stare, stop and take pics with or without your permission or just follow you. Some ppl are racist but for the most part they're fascinated. Lived there for a while and never got used to ppl staring.

i go overseas every year to visit family && let me tell you; if you look different you will have a lot to get use to over there. my boyfriend is maybe two tones darker then me and we get stared at all the time. plus ive gotten, 'why are you with that black boy' but he is also mixed. wtf?? i just wish people could be with whoever they wanna be with && not get stares or remarks. but i guess that is just wishful thinking.

I've never been out the country but I'm interested in studying abroad, particularly in the Uk, since they speak english. Has anyone had any problems in Ireland or Wales ? (I'll probably be heading there since its cheaper than London)
