I agree plenty of people on this here forum type like runaway slaves. Who are we to judge her or the other people typing like Ole Fiddla, Chicken George And Kizzy. I don't look down on anyone regardless of how they type or talk.

Having our own language is a good thing.
But not being able to switch isn't a good thing.

Agreed. We can't ignore that some people can't speak "standard" English because in their neighborhood Ebonics is the standard. We should def teach them why we speak a "standard" English at work or on the stand. Which is solely to b understood. Not because they are wrong.

Time and place
Use conversational and informal language in informal settings around "like" people.
Use standard English in formal settings around unfamiliar people just so everyone is on the same playing field when it comes to comprehending what the other is saying.

Being oblivious to your audience is a mistake ...

I code switch all the time.  I talk in AA English or ebonics when Im at home or talking to my BFF.  I sound really science-y and complex when I am talking with *others*

Non of this matters. I want everyone to remember to see the bigger picture. English is not your language. This language was not made to serve you , it wont take you anywhere unless you use it to organise and unite blacks in the USA. In fact ebonics is an even better tool to do this.

Growing up I used to hate when ppl would say "why you talk so white?"

Eventually I started say we ALL talk white then. English is an amalgam of white languages Ermm
