Berbers are Africans too and they range in skin tone from fair to very dark. Africans have different "shades" just like Europeans (compare a fair haired, pale northern European with a darker, olive skinned Southern European...even within those countries, people from the south are generally darker so region comes into play as well)

A lot of ignorance and truth running in this thread. The American school system strikes again with the education presented to you

it's not the American school system. it's growing up somewhere where you might not be exposed to different cultures and peoples

That observation pretty much puts everything into perspective. But honestly, what's most telling to me is why BHM and it seems, black people of all ethnicities are so obsessed with this question. For all the resentment that is being expressed towards whitey, people sure are desperate to prove at any cost that they can naturally look like them without never having been in contact with them. That in itself is fucced up.

alot of those southern europeans got african genes

Exactly. Berbers also have a lot of mixing in their DNA. People acting dum to prove that they can naturally have caucasian features too. It's embarassing

JP, they don't wanna hear that. They want to believe that lighskineded black folks just naturally occurred. Forget about colonization, immigration, genetics and slavery. They just "pure Africans"
