Well I have plenty of African friends that have immigrated to America...some from Nigeria/Kenya. Majority of them are either light or carmel complexion.

My grand father was light skined like his mother but they are not mixed with anything. They are 100% from Cameroon

white DNA is not what introduced lighter skin to the black phenotype.
that's like saying olive skinned white people or broad nosed white people must have black DNA.

I don't mean "mixed" as in the popular definition of mixed, but I think there is a general conception that Africans are pure for the most part. But a lot of them are really dark but many of them are brown or light with lighter eyes yet still say they are pure.

the dark ones may be more mixed than the ones that are arousing your curiosity

i think a lot of igbos are light skinned because they mixed with the missionaries back in the day. explains why a lot of them have english surnames and are catholic. just a guess

I just can't follow the logic of this thread.
You asked dark skinned Nigerians if their light/fair skinned cousins were mixed. You were advised that they are not....by the dark Nigerians.

So you come to BHM and ask if this is true? You are told it is. But now you see a lighter skinned Ghanian women. (Ghana and Nigeria aren't far...like the distance between NY and FL) This whole phenomena has you questioning the system.

So you are going to ask a dark skinned Ghanian girl...like you did with the dark skinned Nigerians?

Are dark skinned Africans smarter, or are light skinned Africans liars?
